Cullybackey Pipe Band

 

Cullybackey Pipe Band are currently one of only four grade one pipe bands in Ireland being promoted to the premier grade after winning the Grade Two World Championship title in 2007. The present Pipe Major, Andy McGregor, took over the reigns in late 2008 from previous Pipe Major Robert Cupples who is still a member of the band. Cullybackey can boast having some of the most talented pipers and drummers in Ireland among their ranks with many All Ireland and Ulster titles being held. This years Gig ‘n the Bann will see Cullybackey team up with Pure Blarney Folk Group to perform a joint concert. The two groups recorded a live album in November 2008 at the Braid theatre, Ballymena, the first in the Pipe Bands history.
